I'm a hard working individual who'll bring many years experience on all sides of the creative industry to you. I'm friendly but a real nit-picker for detail, performance, accessibility and SEO alongside wanting to always ensure the work I do is a delight to use.
I work well in teams of all sizes as well as working on my own and despite the ADHD label, I have procedures in place with project management.
More information about the bulk of my work over the years can be found at Cleatsandcode or on my creative web agency's website. I'm available on my own or with my business' incredible team of developers, designers and makers.
While predominantly a front-end developer I have a wealth of experience in PHP and other server side technology as well as the admin side of things. I also have experience in media production, design, photography and other soft and creative skills relevant to most of the work undertaken.
I personally enjoy building on the popular WordPress CMS usually building completely bespoke themes and plugins delivering the best possible performance and ease of use from the CMS. All to often I see sites put together by agencies utilising 'sitebuilder' themes and plugins which are often clumsy to use and break for both the client and their visitors. If you'd like to know more about why this is so important please Contact me for a friendly no pressure chat.
Main Skills
I'm a fast learner on the Job. As part of this I learn by working with others well and always with a positive attitude.
Along side these qualities, I'm surprisingly good in a hectic/pressure environment. Because of this I have a wealth of experience in providing BAU services to blue chip clients allowing me to pick work up in a timely and efficient way often turning around code and amends without fuss.
Such examples are rapid development for the Heathrow Third Runway campaign, Campaign work for Three, spinning development plates for Direct Line Group across all of their brands and managing patient facing portals and education platforms for the NHS and endocrine related services.
Its not as scary as it sounds, most anxieties around this are unfounded and just require a little knowledge and understanding when it comes to time management and communication.
If you'd like to book a chat to ask questions in a frank and open way I'm all ears. Please contact me on the details below to arrange a chat either in person in London or the South Coast or via any video/phone/messaging app of your choice.
There is a wealth of information out on the web on how to manage yourself and expectations. I'm not an ADHD coach but am happy to lend an ear and point you to resources I found helpful.
Don't be afraid of *the label* but perhaps more working to alleviate the pitfalls and focus on your strong points is a healthy and positive way forward. Contact me on the details below if you'd like to chat!
